The CBEL-Built Environment Unit, together with housekeeping supervisors and gardeners from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, as well as environmental champions from De La Salle network schools, participated in the seminar “Let’s Talk About Green Landscaping.” Organized by the Lasallian Institute for the Environment (LIFE) and La Salle Botanical Gardens (LSBG), the event was held at the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR) in Silang, Cavite, in celebration of the International Day for Biodiversity.
The seminar provided insights into landscape architecture, pocket garden design, and the importance of integrating biodiversity into urban spaces. Through this learning engagement, participants gained practical knowledge on how thoughtfully designed green spaces can support local ecosystems, enhance the urban environment, and promote biodiversity within campuses and surrounding communities.
The participation reflects Benilde’s continuing commitment to environmental sustainability and the development of greener, more biodiverse spaces in support of a healthier and more sustainable built environment.
