Workability Asia (WAsia) was established in 2004 as the regional arm of Workability International, a global organization committed to advancing employment
opportunities for PWDs. Serving as a platform for disability organizations and service providers, WAsia promotes collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and advocacy within the region. As of September 2024, WAsia has 50 member organizations spanning 13 countries and regions, including Bangladesh, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, and Thailand.
De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB), through its School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS), has been an active member of Workability Asia since 2010, consistently supporting its mission to advance inclusion. Through this long-standing partnership, the College continues to help promote collaboration among service providers, disability organizations, employers, and advocates to promote inclusive education, employment, and enterprise opportunities for PWDs in the region. Benilde has also been on the Workability Asia Board since 2022.
Through Workability Asia, Benilde SDEAS is able to network with organizations whose business is into assisting the PWD have gainful employment and career. The said organization also allows Benilde SDEAS to share its success stories and effective strategies it employs in Deaf placement. The Workability Asia Conference on the other hand is an annual gathering of PWD employment service providers and government organizations to discuss issues, innovations and areas of cooperation for the improvement of PWD employment. This 2025, Philippines had the chance to host the Workability Asia Conference 2025.
