On 20 May 2024, the Center for Social Action together with its student volunteers held the launch of the Voice for Palestine campaign at The Atrium @ Benilde Lobby. The campaign aims to highlight the humanitarian crisis in Gaza by creating accessible platforms for Benildeans to express their solidarity with Palestine.
The campaign launch kicked-off with the Voice for Palestine Photo Exhibition which features stories and narratives of families and mothers who have been gravely affected by the war in Palestine. The exhibition was followed by the opening of Voice for Palestine merchandise booth and the one-day Little Gaza’s Kitchen Pop-up Booth wherein the Benildeans also got a taste of Palestinian heritage through their rich and versatile cuisine; and a round table discussion with families from Little Gaza’s Kitchen who shared their stories and personal experiences during the war.
To sustain the campaign, the organizers partnered with the Center for Lasallian Ministry for a Prayer Vigil for Palestine at the Main Entrance Gate of the DLS-CSB Taft Campus on 11 July 2024. The event centered on the continued call for peace in Palestine, to honor the victims affected, and to call an end to the genocide happening in Palestine.
