The Chefs in Progress (CHIP), a student organization under the Student Involvement Unit, organized The Sprout Project: Importance of Farmers in the Culinary Industry talk attended by students and educators alike. The event aims to deliver a message about the realities our fellow Filipino farmers face nowadays. CHIP encourages the participants to take the initiative in upholding our farmers’ morale. Likewise, the organization hopes to:

  • Instill the importance of farmers to the students and educators
  • Build students’ and educators’ appreciation towards the process of growing and harvesting of ingredients
  • Foster awareness regarding urban farming
  • Promote food sustainability
