Starting the GAD Journey: Learning Session on relevant GAD topics and the formulation of the Benilde GAD Agenda

The De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde, through the Office of the Vice President for Lasallian Mission and Student Life, launched its inaugural Gender and Development (GAD) initiative, “Starting the GAD Journey: Learning Session on Relevant GAD Topics and the Formulation of the Benilde GAD Agenda,” held on March 20–22, 2025 at Balay Indang, Cavite. The three-day learning session gathered selected representatives across academic and non-academic units, now known as GADvocates, to build foundational knowledge on key GAD areas including SOGIESC, Gender-Fair Communication, and the Safe Spaces Act. Participants engaged in collaborative discussions and a writeshop aimed at identifying priority areas and co-creating the institutional GAD agenda. The initiative was spearheaded as part of the College’s broader commitment to strengthening inclusive and gender-responsive policies, programs, and practices. This milestone activity marks the beginning of a structured and participatory approach to GAD mainstreaming, contributing to the advancement of gender equality and inclusive education within the Benildean community.
