Benilde Industrial Design Chairperson Romeo Catap attended the Symposium on Smart Cities Innovation, Biotechnology and Circularity in Vientenne,Laos. The event was co-hosted by U.S.-ASEAN Smart Cities Partnership (USASCP), Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and Arizona State University (ASU), and took place from July 17-19, 2024.
The event presented ASEAN-sponsored initiatives on sustainability, smart cities, circularity, and case studies, including possibilities of academic partnerships for institutions that speak of the same language and are ready to engage in ASEAN-level exchanges.
A comprehensive action plan/report was presented by Romeo Catap, Jr, after the course of the trip that aims to benefit SED programs, in particular to the Industrial Design program.
