[McDonalds ReClassified] Benilde’s Industrial Design and Interior Design programs are teaming up with McDonald’s and Leo Burnett to unveil an extraordinary collaboration: a groundbreaking initiative to upcycle used furniture for a noble cause. This innovative project, entitled ReClassified, challenges 19 teams from both programs to design the most creative upcycled classroom furniture for actual production and distribution to elementary schools in the Philippines.
On August 13, the first batch of student participants visited a warehouse in Cavite to assess the inventory of used items. The submission deadline is set for September, with shortlisted winners announced in October. The winning teams will have their prototypes exhibited in November during Interior Design’s public exhibit.
