The first-ever Philippine Scale Model Show took place at Ayala Malls Manila Bay from August 1-4, 2024. Organized by IPMS Philippines, Mechapinoy, the Brickyard, and Ayala Malls, this event was a landmark occasion for scale model enthusiasts in the Philippines. Our very own Industrial Design faculty and students participated and won awards: silver (open category, fiction vehicles, mecha, & A.I.) by Joaquin Taneda and bronze (fiction vehicles) by Anthony Brian Cruz. Other participating students were Christien Lorenzo and Rowell de Guzman. The event showcased some of the finest scale modelers, judges, and vendors from across the Southeast Asian region. Attendees saw an impressive array of models, including armor, aircraft, automobiles, ships, sci-fi figures, and dioramas. Whether seasoned modelers or newcomers to the hobby, attendees had a unique opportunity to appreciate the artistry and skill involved in scale modeling
