The second Technical Working Group (TWG) meeting on the drafted Rules on Filipino Sign Language (FSL) Interpreting in the Judiciary was a full-day session dedicated to discussing several key articles,particularly those concerning the Visual Communication Assessment for the Deaf (VCAD) and the appropriate fees for interpreting services.
All TWG members actively shared their perspectives and raised important considerations on how best to address these matters, ensuring that the proposed rules are both fair and responsive to the needs of the Deaf community and FSL interpreters.
The meeting was held at the Supreme Court on June 20, 2024. Ms. Bernadette Infanta had the honor of representing De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) and serving as the Deaf representative of the Philippine National Association of Sign Language Interpreters (PNASLI).
