Science, technology and society (SCITECH) is a course that helps explore the process through which scientists, and their allies, make facts. In like manner, this course helps the students examine how the facts and artifacts produced by scientists affect people’s lives: how scientific knowledge changes our self-perception and how it affects social relations. Investigations along these lines call for a radical rethinking of the concept of “social construction” that is relevant for researchers in diverse fields. The Science, Technology and Society course is a service-learning course. Students are expected to render service that is related to waste management, climate change or environmental advocacies. These are important issues to consider as the course seeks to instill reflective knowledge on the concept of the “Good Life”.
Bachelor in Applied Deaf Studies (BAPDST) students create projects that aim to promote environmental, social and technology awareness.
