The School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS) has achieved a significant milestone with the certification of its Bachelor in Applied Deaf Studies (BAPDST) program by the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA). Granted in July 2024, this recognition marks a landmark achievement for SDEAS, as BAPDST remains the only Applied Deaf Studies degree program in the Philippines and Southeast Asia.
This milestone also represents a historic moment for Deaf Education in the region—it is the first time that AUN has accredited the Applied Deaf Studies program.
These accomplishments affirm SDEAS’s unwavering commitment to quality assurance, continuous improvement, and inclusive education for the Deaf. The certification demonstrates that the school’s curriculum, facilities, and learning support systems meet regional and international standards, ensuring that Deaf learners receive a holistic, accessible, and world-class education.
