The Religious Pilgrimage is a faith-enriching journey that allows Deaf volunteers to deepen their spirituality and sense of purpose. By visiting sacred sites and engaging in reflective prayer, participants experience personal renewal and peace. The activity strengthens community ties and highlights the importance of spiritual wellness as a foundation for service and emotional balance.

SDEAS volunteers have the opportunity to take part in a religious pilgrimage to various churches and sacred sites. This spiritual journey invites them to reflect, pray, and deepen their faith as they visit places of great religious significance. The pilgrimage is specially designed to be accessible and inclusive for Deaf volunteers, ensuring that everyone can fully participate in the prayers, rituals, and reflections through the use of Sign Language interpreters, visual aids, and guided sharing sessions.

The pilgrimage encourages them to strengthen their spiritual identity and see themselves as an important part of the larger Catholic Church. This inclusive pilgrimage fosters a sense of belonging and empowerment, inspiring them to continue serving others and sharing the message of faith within the Deaf and hearing communities alike. The pilgrimage was held on February 22-23, 2024 and the following churches were visited:

  • NATIONAL SHRINE OF OUR MOTHER OF PERPETUAL HELP, BACLARAN
  • OUR LADY OF THE ABANDONED, MUNTINLUPA
  • ST. PEREGRINE SHRINE, MUNTINLUPA
  • LOLO UWENG SHRINE, SAN PEDRO LAGUNA
