This training program seeks to train all school personnel (guidance counselors, health staff, teachers, administrators, and other professionals) to become effective gatekeepers in the school setting to prevent suicide within the community through appropriate identification, management, and referral of students-at-risk.
The activity equips the associates with the necessary skills to assist in responding to the increasing mental health cases given the shortage of mental health professionals through:
a. appropriate identification of students and/or associates in distress.
b. referral of students and/or associates-at-risk.
c. follow-up with students and/or associates identified at-risk and encouraging them to seek professional help.
d. intensified awareness on mental health and well-being.
