Incendium 2023: A Dual-Mode Showcase of Interactive Creativity at Benilde

On April 11 and 12, 2023, the Incendium 2023 exhibit was held both online and in-person at the ARG Taft Campus of De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde, bringing together IEMC students, faculty, alumni, external guests and senior high school students to celebrate interactive media, game design and multimedia innovation. Participating Benilde Game Development Faculty included Mr. Cesar Donato, Mr. Bryan Galecio, Dr. Beatrice Lapa, Mr. Keiji Iino, Mr. Lamberto Ongkingco Jr., and Ms. Veronica Gamboa, representing the College’s commitment to cross-level collaboration and creative-industry linkage.

The exhibit featured final academic projects, prototypes and interactive experiences developed by IEMC students, with alumni contributions and senior high school peer engagement adding breadth to the showcase. The dual-mode format allowed for broader reach—online viewers and in-person visitors alike—to explore student work, engage with creators and join discussions on emerging trends in interactive entertainment. For the industry-savvy participants and campus community, Incendium 2023 functioned as a live laboratory: designers, developers and audiences convened not just to display work, but to critique, connect and imagine the next wave of interactive experiences.

In hosting the event, Benilde reinforced its role as a creative hub where pedagogy meets production, where students transform ideas into playable artefacts and where the wider community can witness the outcomes of immersive curriculum pathways. Incendium 2023 thus stands as a milestone in the IEMC programme’s journey—highlighting student achievement, fostering alumni-student synergy, and integrating real-world exposure into the educational process.
