Following its successful implementation in 2022, Impact Week returned to Benilde on 15-23 November 2023 once again for another iteration of Impact Week Philippines. ‘Impact Week‘ was founded by its namesake, a non-profit organization based in Germany that seeks to promote Design Thinking around the world, with support from the Lufthansa Group and help alliance.
Within this context, Design Thinking is used as a means to develop human-centric solutions to day-to-day problems using hands-on training, prototyping, and learning by doing. Impact Week is two-week Design Thinking Workshop that fosters innovation, entrepreneurship and intercultural exchange among students and professionals. This certified international training program is composed of two phases, namely: (a) Train the Trainer for both local and international trainers and (b) Design Thinking to be participated in by the students.
This year, a total of 50 local and international coaches. as well as 126 participants from Benilde, other HEIs, and NGOs, attended the event to learn the principles of design thinking and create prototypes to address day-to-day problems in the community.
