Launched in 2006 by the Lasallian Institute for the Environment (LIFE) under De La Salle Philippines, the One Million Trees and Beyond (OMTB) Program mobilized Lasallian schools nationwide to plant and nurture trees in support of environmental sustainability. While the initial goal of one million trees was reached, the initiative continues today through ongoing reforestation and tree-growing activities across the country.

The Benildean community actively participates in this cause as part of its environmental sustainability initiatives rooted in Lasallian values. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Benilde had planted approximately 355,986 upland and coastal (mangrove) trees. To date, this initiative continues to uphold and sustain the greening tradition of the Lasallian-Benildean community, fostering environmental stewardship and collective action toward a more sustainable future.
