On September 20, 2023, the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP) and Secret 6 conducted the GDAP Academic Roadshow and VFX Workshop at the 2nd Floor Ideation Room and Predator Labs of the De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde. The event served as a collaborative platform for students, faculty, and industry professionals to explore advancements in game development, visual effects, and production technologies that are shaping the global creative industry.
The workshop featured Mr. Solon Chen of KooApps, Mr. Jester Tesoro of Razr, and Mr. Joshua Fenix of the Studio of Secret 6 as speakers. They shared valuable insights on production workflows, technical artistry, and real-world challenges in VFX and game creation. Attendees included IEMC students, faculty members, and external guests, with institutional representation from Ms. Catherine Mojado, Mr. Philip Gungab, Dr. Beatrice Lapa, and Mr. Norman Lee.
Through live demonstrations and open discussions, the speakers emphasized the importance of cross-disciplinary collaboration, quality assurance, and creative innovation—skills essential to meeting the growing demands of the entertainment and technology industries. The event also strengthened GDAP’s ongoing partnership with Benilde in building sustainable academic pathways that align with industry standards.
