The FSL Buddy App v.2.0 is an innovative mobile application designed to make Filipino Sign Language (FSL) learning more engaging, accessible, and interactive. Developed by the School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS) of De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde, and supported by Accenture, the app serves as a practical guide for individuals who wish to learn and use FSL in their daily lives.
Originally created as a companion material for learners enrolled in the Filipino Sign Language Learning Program (FSLLP) of SDEAS, the upgraded version extends its impact beyond the classroom. Through user-friendly features and video demonstrations, FSL Buddy v.2.0 enables users to explore FSL vocabulary, grammar, and expressions at their own pace, anytime and anywhere.
This initiative reflects the shared commitment of SDEAS and Accenture to promote Deaf awareness, inclusive communication, and digital accessibility. By merging education with technology, the app empowers both Deaf and hearing individuals to connect through language and understanding.
Through the FSL Buddy App v.2.0, SDEAS and Accenture continue to advance the advocacy for linguistic inclusion and Deaf empowerment, bringing the beauty of Filipino Sign Language closer to everyone, one sign and one meaningful conversation at a time.
