Michael Alagar Lopez, one of the 27 scholars of CEAD’s Model Learning Institute on Deaf Centered Education (MLITEDCE) under the Deaf Certificate Program, successfully passed the 2024 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET)
Michael earned his baccalaureate degree at the Benilde School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS), graduating magna cum laude. Before pursuing his teaching career, he worked for eight years as a bids reporter and entity editor at Bid Ocean. He completed his Deaf TCP course from Benilde Antipolo in 2023 and soon after took the LET.
Upon learning of his achievement, Michael shared that he felt “very happy” to be among the successful examinees. As an educator, he expressed his commitment to inspiring Deaf learners, saying, “I would help them discover and reach their potential with passion and conviction.”
CEAD continues to advocate for more Deaf teachers like Michael to develop their expertise in Education, FSL Studies, and Bilingual Education Teaching, and to support the full implementation of the FSL Law through the inclusion of Deaf teachers in Deaf schools.
Producing Deaf Teachers is an integral part of the Model Learning Institute on Deaf-Centered Education (MLITEDCE) made possible through a grant from The Nippon Foundation of Japan.
