The two-hour seminar was designed to empower hearing individuals to better understand and engage with the Deaf community. Participants gained firsthand exposure to Filipino Sign Language (FSL) and Filipino Deaf culture, offering them valuable insight into the unique perspectives, communication methods, and lived experiences of the Deaf. Mr. Raymond Manding, Deaf Advocacy Coordinator for SDEAS–Center for Partnership and Development (CPD) and BAPDST, as well as a respected faculty member of BSLI, served as the resource speaker for the Deaf Awareness Orientation (DAO). The Deaf Awareness Seminar was held on November 13, 2023 (Monday), from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Augusto Rosario-Gonzalez (ARG) Theater, Benilde Taft Campus.
