CHED Consultative Workshop with Industry and Government Agencies on the Review and Revision of PSG for BS Entertainment and Multimedia Computing

On October 28, 2023, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) held a landmark Consultative Workshop with Industry and Government Agencies focused on the Review and Revision of the Policies, Standards, and Guidelines (PSG) for the Bachelor of Science in Entertainment and Multimedia Computing (BSEMC) program. The event marked a historic milestone as it was the first joint workshop involving CHED, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP), and the Animation Council of the Philippines, Inc. (ACPI)—gathering together key education policymakers and industry leaders in one collaborative platform.

Representing De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde were Mr. Norman Lee, Chairperson of the CHED Technical Panel for Game Development and Animation (TPGDA) and Special Assistant to the Chancellor, along with Mr. Daniel Enriquez, TPGDA member and Benilde Animation faculty. The workshop convened both CHED and TESDA bodies responsible for curriculum development, as well as board members of GDAP and ACPI, creating a unified dialogue among government agencies and the creative industry.

The primary focus of the workshop was to align CHED and TESDA frameworks with the Philippine Qualifications Framework (PQF) and the Philippine Skills Frameworks (PSF) for Game Development and Animation. Through collaborative discussions, participants reviewed the current BSEMC curriculum and identified opportunities for modernization—ensuring that academic outcomes remain relevant to the latest trends in technology, creative production, and global workforce standards.

This unprecedented convergence of education and industry partners reflects a shared commitment to advancing the Philippine creative technology sector. By fostering a curriculum that integrates innovation, creativity, and technical proficiency, the initiative supports the development of world-class Filipino talent and strengthens the nation’s position as a leader in digital and creative industries.

Benilde’s participation in this national effort highlights its continuing role in nation-building—actively contributing expertise to policy development, curriculum enhancement, and cross-sector collaboration that empower the next generation of Filipino creatives to lead in both local and global arenas.
