CEAD Partners with Public Schools to Strengthen Math and Reading Development of Deaf Learners

The Center for Education Advancement of the Deaf (CEAD) partnered with public schools in the National Capital Region to assess the math and reading skills of Deaf learners. Supported by the Department of Education’s Schools Division Office, the project was conducted from February to October 2024 and involved 43 students from Bagong Silang High School and 33 students from Caloocan High School.

The activity produced comprehensive test data, a group report for Bagong Silang High School, and included seven coordination meetings for orientations, consultations, and debriefing sessions.

Through research and assessment, CEAD continues to strengthen Deaf education by identifying learning challenges and providing evidence-based tools that support educators in promoting inclusive, bilingual, and culturally responsive teaching practices.

This initiative is part of the Model Learning Institute on Deaf-Centered Education (MLITEDCE), made possible through a grant from The Nippon Foundation.
