Beginning May 23, 2024, Benilde Senior High School (SHS) students officially commenced their Work Immersion Program at the Atrium Campus, in partnership with the School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT). The initiative provided SHS students with hands-on exposure to real academic and professional environments under the guidance of the Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BS-IS) and Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity (BS-CSEC) programs.

A total of ten SHS students participated in the immersion—five under BS-IS and five under BS-CSEC. Their tasks involved conceptualizing and organizing events and activities relevant to their assigned programs, designed to introduce fellow SHS students to the exciting and dynamic world of Information Systems and Cybersecurity. The activities aimed to give students an authentic preview of the skills, challenges, and opportunities that professionals in these fields encounter.

Beyond exposure, the Work Immersion Program served as a bridge between senior high school and college education, allowing students to experience Benilde’s learner-centered environment and potentially pursue further studies within SMIT’s technology programs. It also strengthened collaboration between Benilde’s SHS and tertiary divisions, reinforcing a seamless educational pathway toward innovation, digital literacy, and professional growth.
