From January 26 to 28, 2024, the De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde, through its student organization GUILD, proudly hosted the Global Game Jam 2024 at the ARG Theatre. The event brought together students, faculty members, and external participants for a three-day creative marathon centered on game design, collaboration, and innovation.

The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is the world’s largest annual game creation event, where participants around the globe simultaneously conceptualize, design, and build games based on a common theme announced at the start of the jam. At Benilde, the activity gathered IEMC students, alumni, and guests from the local game development community, transforming the ARG Theatre into a dynamic co-working space buzzing with creativity and teamwork.

Benilde faculty members Dr. Beatrice Lapa, Mr. Lamberto Ongkingco Jr., Mr. Bryan Galecio, and Ms. Veronica Gamboa guided the participants throughout the jam, providing mentorship, technical advice, and design feedback. The event encouraged students to explore rapid prototyping, creative problem-solving, and collaborative production under time constraints—skills that mirror the demands of the professional game industry.

By serving as one of the official jam sites for GGJ 2024, Benilde reinforced its reputation as a center for creative experimentation and innovation in game development education. The event not only strengthened the sense of community among aspiring developers but also connected Benilde to a worldwide network of creators united by the shared language of play, design, and storytelling.
