[2024-2025] Benilde Explores Expanded COIL Collaboration with Tsukuba University of Technology and Gallaudet University

De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) strengthened its international engagement in Deaf education through a meeting with representatives from Tsukuba University of Technology and Gallaudet University on July 8, 2025. The discussion, led by Ana Arce and Sherlo Reyes, focused on updates and future plans for the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) initiative previously conducted between the institutions and the School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS).

During the meeting, both parties explored expanding the COIL program to include additional courses such as English and Literature, aiming to provide Deaf students with broader academic exposure and enhanced intercultural learning experiences. Alignment for these courses will be examined in the coming weeks, with a potential rollout targeted for Term 1 of Academic Year 2025–2026.

The collaboration highlights Benilde’s commitment to innovative, accessible, and globally connected education, empowering students to engage meaningfully with peers and experts from around the world. By deepening partnerships with leading institutions in Deaf education, Benilde continues to advance inclusive learning opportunities and international academic exchange.
