[2024-2025] Nova Scotia Minister Visits Benilde to Strengthen Canadian Academic Partnerships

De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) welcomed Hon. Brendan Maguire, Minister of the Department of Advanced Education of Nova Scotia, Canada, on June 9, 2025, alongside Deputy Minister Tracey Barbick, Mike McMurray, Executive Director for International and Military Relations, and Aline St. Laurent-Guerin, Trade Commissioner at the Canadian Embassy.

The visit underscored Benilde’s growing network of partnerships with Canadian higher education institutions, particularly Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC). Discussions centered on expanding collaboration in key areas, including information technology programs, faculty mobility, joint research initiatives, and engagement with additional higher education institutions across Nova Scotia.

This engagement highlighted Benilde’s commitment to global academic exchange and industry-aligned education, fostering opportunities for students and faculty to gain international exposure while strengthening ties with world-class institutions.

The meeting also served as a platform for strategic dialogue on future collaborative initiatives, reaffirming Benilde’s role as a Lasallian leader in innovative, globally connected education and its dedication to building strong, mutually beneficial international partnerships.
