De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) reaffirmed its leadership in inclusive education and workforce development as Sherlo Reyes, Director of the Center for External Linkages (CEL), delivered a talk at the Australia Awards Summit 2025 on “Designing an Inclusive Workplace for Tomorrow.”
In his presentation, Reyes explored how institutions can design, implement, and sustain inclusive workforce policies that empower persons with disabilities and other marginalized groups. Drawing from real-world case studies of Benilde’s partner organizations under the School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS), he showcased how strategic partnerships and inclusive practices can create meaningful employment pathways and lasting impact.
The session underscored Benilde’s holistic approach to inclusion—one that integrates education, employment, and advocacy to promote accessibility and equity in all sectors. Beyond sharing best practices, the event also opened new doors for collaboration. Reyes engaged with key representatives from LinkedIn, Mariano Marcos State University, and the Technological University of the Philippines, initiating discussions on microcredentialing programs, faculty exchanges, and inter-institutional knowledge sharing.
Follow-up meetings are set in the coming weeks to solidify these potential partnerships, with the goal of expanding opportunities for both students and professionals in inclusive workforce development.
Through initiatives like this, Benilde continues to strengthen its role as a regional leader in inclusive innovation, inspiring other academic and industry partners to build workplaces where diversity thrives and everyone belongs.
