De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) reaffirmed its commitment to producing globally competitive and industry-ready graduates as it participated in the Philippine Skills Framework (PSF) Kick-Off organized by the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) on June 25, 2024, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m.
The event marked the public presentation of the Philippine Skills Framework, a comprehensive guide that defines the competencies required across key sectors such as global in-house contact centers, animation, game design, healthcare information management, call centers, and the software industry. Developed in collaboration with industry leaders, government agencies, and academic institutions, the PSF aims to bridge the gap between education and employment by providing a clear roadmap for skill development and workforce alignment.
Representing Benilde at the event were Center for External Linkages (CEL) Director Sherlo Reyes, School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT) Associate Dean Cathy Mojado, and School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS) representatives Patti Crisanto and Dea Faustino. Their participation underscored Benilde’s active role in shaping educational strategies that respond to evolving industry needs.
During the discussions, Ms. Kit Sison of the Global In-House Contact Center (GICC) and Zoey De Rivera expressed strong interest in establishing a partnership with Benilde for the development of micro-credentialing programs—short, targeted courses designed to equip learners with specific, industry-relevant skills. A follow-up meeting between GICC, IBPAP, and Benilde is set to be scheduled to explore the implementation of these programs.
Through its collaboration with IBPAP, Benilde continues to uphold its mission of innovative and inclusive education, aligning its academic offerings with global standards while empowering learners to thrive in a rapidly changing digital economy. This engagement highlights Benilde’s leadership in advancing education that meets the demands of the future workforce—adaptive, agile, and authentically Benildean.
