On July 17, 2024, the School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT), in partnership with UnionBank of the Philippines, officially launched the UnionBank Innovation Garage, located at the 2nd Floor of the Atrium Campus. The launch marked a significant step in fostering an innovation-driven academic environment where students can develop creative solutions to real-world challenges through collaboration and technology.
The UnionBank Innovation Garage was established to serve as a dynamic space for SMIT students to ideate, design, and prototype new projects, encouraging experimentation and interdisciplinary collaboration. Equipped with modern tools and technologies, the Garage provides a hands-on environment where students can transform innovative concepts into practical outcomes that address current business, social, and technological needs.
This initiative forms part of UnionBank’s “Tech-Up Pilipinas” campaign, a national movement aimed at promoting digital transformation and technological empowerment across communities and institutions. By integrating this initiative within Benilde, the College and UnionBank jointly advance their shared goal of nurturing future-ready leaders who embody innovation, adaptability, and social responsibility.
