Angkas Industry Visit – Exploring Collaboration Opportunities with Benilde’s Information Systems Program

On May 23, 2024, Mr. Jacob Catayoc, Chairperson of the Information Systems Program (ISP), and Ms. Catherine Mojado, Associate Dean of the School of Management and Information Technology – Analytics, Computing, and IT (SMIT-ACI) Cluster, conducted an industry visit to Angkas, one of the country’s leading mobility and logistics companies. The visit aimed to explore potential areas of collaboration between Benilde and Angkas in the fields of information systems, digital innovation, and data-driven solutions.

The meeting was made possible through Mr. Ericson Muros, a BS-IS alumnus who is now part of the Angkas team. This connection underscored the strong and continuing link between Benilde’s academic programs and its alumni network, demonstrating how graduates contribute to bridging partnerships between academia and industry.

During the visit, the Benilde representatives and Angkas executives discussed possible initiatives that could include student internships, research collaborations, process optimization projects, and the integration of real-world business cases into classroom learning. The dialogue reinforced Benilde’s commitment to fostering industry-academe partnerships that create meaningful learning experiences while contributing to industry advancement.

The Angkas visit exemplified Benilde’s forward-looking approach to education—one that connects students and faculty to real-world innovations, cultivates professional relationships, and strengthens the College’s reputation as a hub for technology and enterprise collaboration.
