On May 7, 2024, the Philippine Skills Framework (PSF) for Software Development and Cybersecurity was officially launched through a national event organized by multiple government agencies, including the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). The PSF aims to develop sector-specific and cross-sectoral frameworks that define the competencies and career pathways needed for various job roles across industries, strengthening the country’s workforce development and alignment with global standards.

The Information Systems Program (ISP) and Cybersecurity Program (CSEC) of the School of Management and Information Technology – Analytics, Computing, and IT (SMIT-ACI) Cluster actively participated in the development and validation phases of the PSF for Software Development and Cybersecurity. In recognition of their contribution, program chairpersons from the SMIT-ACI Cluster, representing ISP, CSEC, BIAP, and CAP, attended the official launching ceremony.

The event celebrated the culmination of months of collaboration among industry practitioners, government agencies, and academic institutions—underscoring Benilde’s role in shaping the national digital skills ecosystem. Through its involvement, Benilde reaffirmed its commitment to industry-academe partnerships, ensuring that its academic programs remain responsive to the evolving needs of the technology and cybersecurity sectors.
