The Information Systems Program (ISP) and Cybersecurity Program (CSEC) of the De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde – School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT) actively participated in the Philippine Skills Framework (PSF) Validation for Software Development and Security (PSF-SDS) led by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). The series of validation sessions took place online on January 24–25, 2024, February 13, 2024, and February 21, 2024, engaging educators and industry experts in evaluating national competency standards for digital skills development.

The initial validation sessions were attended by Mr. Jacob Catayoc, Program Chairperson for Information Systems, and Mr. Ricson Singson Que, Program Chairperson for Cybersecurity, who served as validators for the accuracy, relevance, and alignment of the PSF-SDS with current and emerging industry requirements. The SMIT–Analytics, Computing, and IT Cluster (ACI), headed by Ms. Catherine Mojado, also participated in the Educators Validation phase on February 13, contributing academic insights into how the framework can be effectively integrated into higher education curricula. The final leg of validation on February 21 was attended by Mr. Ricson Singson Que, representing Benilde in ensuring that the PSF accurately reflects both industry and academic perspectives.
This participation reinforces Benilde’s active role in national skills development and policy collaboration, particularly in shaping competency frameworks for the country’s digital economy.
