Sake Manila 2024 is a celebrated annual festival that highlights Japan’s heritage, beverages, and craftsmanship, featuring over 200 premium sakes and other Japanese spirits such as whisky, gin, and beer. Through Benilde SHRIM’s partnership with Philippine Wine Merchants (PWM), students participated in the event to experience real-world hospitality operations and cultural engagement.
Students assisted in beverage service for high-value guests, interacted with Japanese brewers, and attended an intensive masterclass on sake production, pairing, and service. This collaboration deepened students’ appreciation of Japanese culture and global beverage standards while developing competencies in event service, communication, and intercultural professionalism.
This initiative underscores Benilde’s commitment to quality learning experiences (SDG 4), skills development for employability (SDG 8), and sustained industry partnerships (SDG 17) in advancing global hospitality education.
