Filipino Lens on Japanese Fashion, Art, and Culture

The Fashion Design and Merchandising (FDM) Program, in collaboration with Bunka Gakuen Tokyo, hosted the lecture series “Filipino Lens on Japanese Fashion, Art and Culture” on June 21, 2024, at the LRC Commons, Design and Arts Campus.

The event engaged Benilde students and faculty, offering insights that inspire creativity and broaden understanding of global fashion and artistic dialogues.

The series explored the multifaceted dimensions of Japanese fashion, art, and culture through the perspectives of Filipino scholars, artists, and cultural enthusiasts. By highlighting the dynamic interplay between Filipino and Japanese influences, the lecture aimed to foster a deeper appreciation of how these cross-cultural exchanges shape contemporary expressions in fashion, art, and culture.
