The Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) concluded this year’s Philippine Textile Congress during the 2023 National Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (NSTW) in Iloilo City on September 29, 2023. The congress carried the theme “Futures Thinking for Philippine Textiles”, aiming to bring together textile academics and industry stakeholders while promoting economic growth and entrepreneurship in the sector.
The FDM Program was represented by Program Chairperson Olivia Lopez and Textile Track Head Diana Katigbak, who were invited as speakers to share their expertise and insights. The event provided an excellent platform for Benilde students and faculty to engage with the latest trends, innovations, and research in the Philippine textile industry.
Through its participation, FDM continues to strengthen its role in advancing textile education, research, and industry collaboration, helping shape the future of fashion and textile development in the Philippines.
