The School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS) and the Filipino Sign Language Learning Program, in partnership with the Benildean Deaf Association, held an event on October 25, 2023, at Greenway, Taft Campus. The activity was attended by 78 Deaf and hearing Benildean students. The exhibition activity not only offers a unique and inclusive learning opportunity for all Benildeans but also aligns seamlessly with the Filipino Sign Language Act, allowing individuals to step on and explore the exhibit. Beyond its physical engagement, the activity serves as a catalyst for promoting empathy, understanding, and appreciation for the unique experiences of the Deaf community. This project is intricately designed to transform knowledge into practical and beneficial insights for all Benildeans, encouraging the application of newfound understanding. The Filipino Sign Language exhibition acts as a dynamic simulation of the learning and teaching experience, with a primary goal of raising awareness and fostering understanding of the Filipino Sign Language Act. Recognizing the broader benefits, gaining awareness of Filipino Sign Language equips all Benildeans with enhanced cognitive processes, developmental growth, and improved proficiency in sign language basics.
