Whisky Meets the Academe 2023 is an annual educational initiative that bridges the gap between classroom learning and professional practice in beverage management. As the official qualifying event for Whisky Live Manila, it aims to identify and develop the most skilled student representatives from participating hospitality schools.
The program features a comprehensive learning process, beginning with a professional whisky masterclass and an in-depth study of each school’s sponsored whisky brand. Participants then undergo a qualifying examination to determine the top ten students, who advance to receive hands-on bartending and mixology training under the mentorship of two seasoned industry professionals. The mentors conduct a final assessment to select the top two ambassadors who will represent their school at Whisky Live Manila.
This initiative demonstrates Benilde’s commitment to quality and applied learning (SDG 4), career readiness and technical excellence (SDG 8), and innovation and collaboration between education and industry (SDG 9 and SDG 17)—empowering students to become globally competent professionals in the hospitality field.
