Students from the Fashion Design and Merchandising (FDM) Program took part in “Stitch-Off,” an innovative competition organized by the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) on October 26, 2023, at the Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City.
The competition aims to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation among the youth for Philippine textiles and the science, technology, and innovation (STI) that drive their evolution. “Stitch-Off” provides a platform for young creatives to blend traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, highlighting the vital role of innovation in the advancement of the Philippine textile industry.
Through their participation, these Benildeans showcased creativity, technical skill, and a forward-thinking approach to sustainable and innovative textile design.
