Deaf Festival: Filipino Sign Language Storytelling

This initiative provided a platform for students to express their stories while highlighting the importance of FSL as a powerful and inclusive medium of communication within the Deaf community. The collective participation of 95 Deaf students demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering an environment that celebrates Deaf identity and strengthens community bonds.

A cohort of Deaf students actively participated in this meaningful activity, sharing their experiences and narratives through the expressive art of Filipino Sign Language (FSL) storytelling. The event gathered 95 Deaf students from both the School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS) and the Benildean Deaf School (BDS). The FSL Storytelling event was held on November 14, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Augusto Rosario-Gonzalez (ARG) Theater, Benilde Taft Campus.
