Ms. Alexandra Calbay-Martin, Executive Director of the Deaf Centre Manitoba, Inc. (Canada), served as the distinguished resource speaker for the Advocacy and Networking Training held on November 29, 2023, at Room D504, Taft Campus.
The event, organized by the SDEAS–Center for Partnership and Development, aimed to equip Deaf leader-advocates with the skills to promote Deaf culture and awareness through effective networking and public education. Participants learned innovative approaches to advocacy, including strengthening their social media presence and engaging in volunteer work within organizations that include hearing individuals.
