The De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) proudly hosted 17 students and 2 faculty members from Ontario College of Art and Design University (OCAD U) last May 13–18, 2024 for an enriching week-long collaborative program titled “Experiential Photography.”
The initiative provided a platform for cross-cultural learning and artistic exploration, as participants from both institutions delved into expanded and alternative photographic processes inspired by the vibrant Philippine landscape. Through a series of hands-on workshops and insightful lectures held in Benilde’s darkrooms and studios, students experimented with pinhole and slow photography, embracing creative methods that highlighted patience, process, and perception.
Beyond the classroom, the program offered immersive cultural experiences and guided campus tours, allowing the visitors to connect deeply with Filipino artistry, everyday life, and local creative communities.
The collaboration between OCAD U and Benilde not only celebrated the art of photography but also reinforced the importance of global partnerships in shaping contemporary creative education—where artists learn, experiment, and grow through shared experiences and diverse perspectives.
