APOH is a student-led service-learning project team from the Benilde Interior Design Program of 3rd Term’s Batch 2024. As positive youth makers of change and Benildean-LaSallian students, we channel our student-social values into this cultural reconnection effort through design, collaboration, and innovation. In partnership with our main beneficiary from the Magsilay Community in Kalinga Province, APOH aims to nurture pride among elderly individuals and shift their displaced societal roles into the forefront of Kalinga’s prided culture.

With our advocacy for elderly empowerment through cultural reconnection, we aim to provide them an opportunity to impart their traditions, values, and wisdom to strengthen their social inclusion and uplift their dignity. Thereby, instilling a new sense of purpose and truly Awakening the Pride of the Olden Hope (APOH). Through our aim of uplifting the well-being of the elderlies in Magsilay community, we hope to promote their culture and revitalize their community pride.

Taking this proactive effort, APOH will organize a series of events that aims to raise awareness about the elderly community in Magsilay. The funds garnered will support our project’s pursuit of creating a designated Senior Citizen Center to host social activities, community huddles, and enrichment programs. Together, we embark on a legacy of cultural continuity from our revered elderlies.
