The 29th Deaf Festival Cultural Show is entitled MANGHOD, written and choreographed by our Deaf Performing Arts Trainer, Ms Myra Medrana. The Cultural Show was held at the Augusto-Rosario Gonzalez Theater last November 25, 2023. It is the story of three Deaf College Best Friends who went out for an adventure trip and later met a poor young deaf child from the province. They shared their college life stories and experiences to give hope and inspiration for the child’s future. SDEAS appreciates the participation of our invited guests from the Benilde Community and partners: Benilde Deaf School, Benilde Senior High School , Culture and Arts Unit, School of Arts Culture and Performance, Filipino Sign Language Learning Program Alumni, and the Center for Education Advancement for the Deaf. Together with the Main Performance of SILENT STEPS from our SDEAS Students. All performers worked hard to confidently perform in the Cultural Show. The Deaf Festival Cultural Show is done annually to close the weeklong celebration of the Deaf Festival. The Cultural Show is open to the public, especially members of the Filipino Deaf community.
