The Center for Faculty Advancement (CFAd) initiated and hosted “Habi: Designing Better Learning” on July 31, 2024, to foster excellence in teaching methodologies. This crucial workshop was successfully conducted in partnership with the Habi Education Lab.
This interactive workshop introduced Learning Experience Design (LXD), a practical approach combining teaching theories, adult learning principles, and human-centered design. Attended by 33 representatives from eight Benilde training centers (including CET, CIE, CLM, and PODO) and all seven Schools, this CFAd-led activity aimed to equip key personnel across the institution to redesign learning experiences for both teaching and non-teaching associates, and students.
Participants utilized the Habi design process to create personalized learning plans, enabling them to become “LX champions” in their respective units. By focusing on the intentional design of learning, this activity directly strengthens the Faculty Development Program, ensuring that teaching methodologies are innovative, inclusive, and effective, thereby elevating the overall quality of education delivered.
