The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) undertook a strategic benchmarking activity with the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) on July 2, 2024. Representatives from the Center for Faculty Advancement (CFAd) and the Center of Educational Technology (CET) met with UPOU officials to gather valuable insights into pioneering approaches to online learning and effective faculty development.
This collaboration focused on refining Benilde’s commitment to academic excellence by studying UPOU’s best practices in three key areas: online course development, particularly for the Benilde Open Online Course (BOOC) initiative; the implementation of a relevant micro-credentialing program; and strategies to encourage faculty participation in continuous professional growth.
By examining UPOU’s methods for quality assurance, instructional design, and flexible delivery, DLS-CSB aims to enhance its digital course offerings, improve overall course quality, and foster a robust, supportive environment for its educators, directly ensuring high-quality education for all students.
