In anticipation of the upcoming curriculum revisions of Benilde Antipolo’s academic programs, it successfully held a two-day curriculum workshop titled “Shaping Futures: Mandate, OBE Integration, and Curriculum Alignment Workshop” on May 19–20, 2025, at the Function Hall, Benilde Antipolo. The event was a collaborative initiative of the Center for Faculty Advancement (CFAd) and the Center for Instruction, Research, and Curriculum (CIRC).
The workshop convened academic administrators and faculty members to critically engage with three core areas of academic development: the institutional Mandate, Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) Integration, and Curriculum Alignment. These components are essential in building responsive and future-ready programs that meet both internal academic goals and external quality benchmarks.
Jimmy B. Dillo Jr., CIRC Head, explained the significance of the workshop, noting that the initiative is essential as the Academics begin their formal curriculum review. It lays the groundwork for creating programs that are aligned with our mission-vision and the evolving demands of our stakeholders.
The importance of alignment was emphasized by Geronio G. Ulayao, Benilde Antipolo Provost and the Center for Quality Management and Accreditation (CQMA) Director, who underscored the relevance of international standards: The ASEAN University Network (AUN) is very keen not only on curriculum alignment but also on the process by which different levels of outcomes—institutional, program, and course—are clearly articulated and interconnected.
Throughout the two-day session, participants engaged in presentations, collaborative planning, and outcome mapping to ensure that academic programs remain consistent with accreditation requirements, industry needs, student aspirations, and institutional directions.
This event marks a significant step forward in Benilde Antipolo’s commitment to instructional and curricular excellence. It sets the tone for a strategic and reflective curriculum review process that prioritizes quality, relevance, and learner-centered education.
