On 4 April 2024 the SDG Learning visit to the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) was conducted to expand our students’ perspective on the relevance of diplomacy outside of the traditional confines of politics. Students of AB-Consular and Diplomatic Affairs (AB-CDA), AB-Diplomacy and International Affairs (AB-DIA), and AB-Governance and Public Affairs (AB-GPA), as well as students from the Benilde Senior High School (BSHS) were introduced to the mandate of PhilSA and DOST-ASTI in relation to the Philippines’ overarching goals.
Interactions between students and experts were anchored on career opportunities, the overlap between space science and diplomacy, and the practical and strategic uses of satellites for the Philippines.
