Introduction to Assessment and Designing Scoring Rubrics workshop for School of Diplomacy and Governance Faculty

The Center for Faculty Advancement-Instruction unit (CFAd-IU) in collaboration with the Center of Educational Technology (CET) held a whole-day training on Assessment and Evaluation to faculty members of the School of Diplomacy and Governance (SDG). The session provided faculty members with a refresher on the fundamentals of assessment and its vital role in the teaching and learning process. Participants explored various types of assessment and how to align them with specific learning outcomes. The workshop also introduced the concept of rubrics as tools for authentic evaluation in classroom activities. Facilitators guided participants in identifying rubric components, understanding their benefits, and designing effective rubrics for their courses. The session served as a valuable preparation for using BigSky’s grades management and rubrics tools, enhancing faculty capacity to implement meaningful and transparent assessment practices.
