From July 13 to 15, 2023, the Accenture x School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT) Career Fair and Hackathon took place at the Atrium of De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde. The event brought together students, faculty, and industry professionals in an engaging three-day celebration of innovation, employability, and collaboration. Organized by the Analytics, Computing, and IT (ACI) Cluster under the leadership of OIC-SMIT Dean Dr. Ma. Corazon R. Reyes and Associate Dean Ms. Catherine V. Mojado, the event was supported by key program heads including Business Intelligence and Analytics Program Coordinator Jelica R. Enriquez, Computer Applications Program Chairperson Henry DV. Castro, Information Systems Program Chairperson and Cybersecurity Program Coordinator Jacob A. Catayoc, and Interactive Entertainment and Multimedia Computing Program OIC-Chairperson Veronica R. Gamboa.

The first day featured a comprehensive career fair where students connected directly with Accenture representatives to learn about job opportunities, internships, and career pathways in the field of technology. It provided a platform for learners to present their skills and gain valuable insights into the demands of the tech industry. The succeeding days were dedicated to the hackathon, where Benildean students collaborated to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems. The team composed of David Ariel Concon, Christian Von Molino, Nathanael Angelo Tecson, and Alfred Angelo Layug from the Interactive Entertainment and Multimedia Computing (IEMC) program won second place in the Tech4Good challenge, highlighting their creativity and social awareness through technology-driven solutions.
The event exemplified Benilde’s strong commitment to merging academic learning with industry practice. Through its collaboration with Accenture, SMIT empowered its students to experience the realities of innovation and problem-solving in professional settings. The Career Fair and Hackathon not only enhanced the students’ technical competencies but also promoted values of collaboration, ethical innovation, and social responsibility, all of which are essential in shaping the next generation of Filipino tech professionals.
