The “Free To Be Green: Know Your EVs” initiative of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde promotes awareness of the College’s green mobility efforts and the environmental benefits of electric vehicles (EVs). Through an educational infographic, the initiative highlights the College’s use of plug-in hybrid electric SUVs, passenger vans, and shuttle service buses, while presenting data on EV use and its contribution to reducing carbon emissions.

Based on environmental data from September 2024 to August 2025, the EV fleet have traveled 40,318 kilometers equivalent to an estimated ₱273,416.00 worth of diesel fuel avoided, and 599,294 passengers utilizing electric vehicle services across all campuses in the reported month. It also highlights an estimated 26.38 tCO₂e in carbon emissions avoided through EV use and 21,032 kWh of electricity generated by charging the electric vehicles during the period.
The initiative supports the College’s commitment to sustainable transportation, carbon emissions reduction, and environmental awareness in line with Project Carbon Neutral. By communicating measurable results, it encourages the Benildean community to recognize the role of cleaner mobility in advancing campus sustainability.
